can i use a cable b series VSS?

Default can i use a cable b series VSS?

ok well i just got done rebuilding my A6 and the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is discontinued from honda. well i found a b series cable VSS for sale. can i use that in my d series tranny?? thank you in advance

The gear that goes into the tranny is different, and the bolt pattern is different too. Get yourself one from a junkyard.

That is a bunch of bull, I just bought one last week, here is what I got. I doubt I got the last one as it came in 1 day so the local warehouse had it in stock(didnt have to wait a week to come from cali like some parts I have ordered) I got them from my local dealer

007 23811-PC1-000 HOLDER, SPEEDOMETER GEAR , HOLDER $17.45 Each
014 90638-689-000 CLIP, SPEEDOMETER GEAR (MATSUSHITA) , CLIP $2.25
015 91313-611-010 O-RING (23.5X2) , O-RING (23.5X2) $1.26 Each
010 23820-PM1-000 GEAR, SPEEDOMETER , GEAR, SPEEDOMETER $26.21



JUst order it by those part #'s the parts guy was probably too lazy to look it up and said it was discontinued

i just bought one from the dealer also,

for a 90 hatch.

who ever you spoke to at the honda dealer is mentally challenged, of corse, most people ive dealt with in their parts dept. are.

WTF!!! i have been to like 4 different dealers. and majestic and the honda store they all say they are discontinued. i got the gear and housing but they said the sensor itself is discontinued ugh im going to have to check this ish out

MOst people refer to the unit in the tranny(gear and holder) as the vss, if you need the electrical part the cable goes to in the cluster then it may be discontinued I have never checked. your best bet is to get a used cluster

Part # 9 is just the rubber boot that covers the cable and clip. its not needed, those can be had at the junkyard off any cable tranny

ok well i have my tach working on my stock gauge cluster but the mph isnt movin could this mean i dont have vss?i just swapped out the trans to ys1 gsr one.
