I have a 95 accord v6 and everytime i start it up there is a weird humming sound for about 5 seconds. It sounds maybe like the power antenna motor trying to work but it does happen sometimes while i am driving too. (ps my power antenna does not work) I have no idea what it is but it just bothrs me that there is this weird random sound. Anybody know what it is?

Can you pinpoint the general area you hear the noise from?

You may have an antenna motor control switches (in the antenna motor) starting to fail.

i unplugged my power mirrors fuse today on accident (thinking it was the power antenna fuse) and to my surprise the sound did not exist on start up. When i plugged the power mirrors fuse back in and unplugged the actual power antenna fuse, the noise persisted. So maybe it is the power mirrors? but they work fine. I will try to listen hard and find out where the noise is coming from, but drop me a line if anyone has any ideas or suggestions! thanks again.

 

ABS pump?

 

is there an easy and definite way to check the ABS pump is functioning properly? sorry if i am completely ignorant!

 

i get that sound too but i found out it was the abs pump and it still goes on every now and then but only when if i haven't started it for more then a week
