Alternator Different?

Are B-series alternators the same as long as they share the same OBD? Or is OBD not an issue? Any differences between Type R alternators and non-Type R alternators?

At least with obd the same i believe all b-series alt. are the same. Just like d-series

Some OBD2 B-series alternators (Canadian SiR I believe, possibly others) use a different plug, small 3 wire retangular plug vs the normal larger square plug.
