I have an 89 Civic with a B16, the car has been converted OBD1. The car throws code 22 which is: vtec oil pressure switch. It randomly comes on and when i turn the car and then back on the code goes away but comes back after a while. <U>Could my chipped p28 ecu be the problem? </U> I havent had the time to check the wiring but I will soon, But first I am going to try another ecu and see what happens. Anyone have any advice?
try a stock, un-molested ecu and see if you get the same code.
if not its the ecu
if you still have code, replace vtec pressure solenoid
if not its the ecu
if you still have code, replace vtec pressure solenoid
