Default Civic or del Sol? I'm torn between the two!!

i have a 96 accord for a winter car and a 93 del sol for my summer car. del sol has some minor rust and in need of a paint job and some body work. im torn on whether to keep the sol and put a few grand and a lot of time in to the body work or to sell the accord and put my money towards a 99'-00' southern rust free civic and use the sol as my winter car. i love my sol but have always loved the 99'-00' civic coupe as well. i dont know what to do!

what do you think would be more worthwile?

you can make an ek coupe look very nice and non-old ish especially with si-type mods. del sol's, while they have their place, are probably not considered 'nice cars' by many.

what do u want LOL?

Do u want a targa topped 2 seater or a car with more cabin room??

Delsols are great summer cars...and they weigh about the same as an 96-00 civic (~2600 lbs w/ B16) but the chassis isnt as rigid (due to the targa top)

Rust is a bitch though

I'd stop thinkin about what others would do and DO something U want to do....theres already enough civics that look the same because ur a "ricer" if u dont follow the status quo which is a big

see i like both very much but like u said rust is a definate bitch and i think i just want to start with a clean southern car. plus i do not like how the del sol chassis is not rigid like u said. i can feel the body flex quite a bit and im definately not a fan, this is actually a big reason why im kinda leaning towards the coupe.

i think im gonna sell the accord i got and use that money towards the coupe.

any more thoughts from anyone?

Im all about the coupes. Rust free is the way to go also. I know there are some hardcore sol owners here but get what you want.

well i love my sol like i said but i have always liked the coupes as well especially b/c of their stiffer chassis. i hate the way the sol feels when you hit bumps, tons of body flex. im just trying to figure out which would be more cost effective, stripping the whole sol and getting all the body work done or just selling my accord and buying a new car. i want both goddamnit!!

They're actually not EKs either. And chassis don't refer to just a certain body style.

Well, the Si looks pretty similar to any other '99-'00 Civic coupe.

EKs are sold in most countries overseas besides North America. EKs include hatches and sedans with several different engine choices.
