when i get high in rpms in my 94 civic it makes a loud noise. it kind of sounds like a turbo in a way.
would anyone know what that could be?

 

what civic do you have? what engine is in it? and heres the kicker...

do you have vtec?

well it doesnt sound like a bov.
like around 4500 rpms it starts to wistle or hum in a way.
but it actually sounds pretty cool, but im afriad it might be something bad.

but i never go past 6000 rpms any ways and i think the redline on dx is like 6500 right?

 

It's your intake. Mine does the same thing... Doesn't hurt anything, just makes a neat noise.

 

Not sure actually i think 6800? I'm not positive.

and i remember it is 6800 but im not sure if i should take it that far b/c i have a rebuild head on mine

 

I used to take my d15b7 or whatever it was to 7200 thats the cut off all day for fun, never had a problem, that little motor was strong. haha.

 

do you think it would be safe with a rebuilt head.

 

If its rebuilt then I guess, but its pointless to aimlessly beat on your car, I just did cause I was getting my swap the week after.

My intake also whistles, it's rather annoying it. It only happens at around 2/3 throttle, I would love to fix it if anyone has. Skunk 2 mani btw.

Get an OEM breather assembly
