Default Changing the clutch in My SH

Is changing the clutch on an SH diff from the Base model. I did look at the forum for the clutch changing walkthrough and all. I was wondering if the ATTS would get in the way (which I think it is on the driver side I can't remember its 3am so...) I just need some reassurance and all. Thanks

Yes, you need to disconnect/take down the ATTS unit in order to get to all of the tranny bolts, and yes, you definitely need to enlist the help of Haynes or another repair manual.

ATTS is on the driver side yes?

EDIT

And blast those Ball Joints... Royal Pain in the 4th point of contact...
I also found that there a few extra tubes as well and I have to add tranny oil in 2 places I will get pics of those later. I hope that it can be put in the clutch part of the forum for anyone whom has ATTS doesn't go nuts like I am now lol....

You sound pretty lost. Dl the helms, it will help you tremendously. http://www.spoonhonda.com

Go to autozone and rent a tie-rod puller. It'll make quick work of the balljoints.

That helms manual helped alot although I am still not done with it yet (its cold as hell) But its going smooth. I just have to get those damn ball joints off. I think one of my boots is damaged(sigh). But all is well for now. I will post the pics for the removal of the ATTS. I hope that it may be added to the Clutch changing FAQ later on. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

Let me tell you what the dealer charges to change a clutch for an SH. After my back surgery I couldnt do any work on my car. But my clutch took a s@#$. It cost my $1500 to replace the clutch (I bought an aftermarket clutch so no parts other then a flywheel) due to the ATTS being a pain in the but to take out. I think it came to something like 12 hours of labor not sure.

ATTS is rediculous to remove and install, after the first 2 jobs I did on SH cars, I refuse to do any more clutch/tranny jobs on them. It takes a ton of time, is too hard for my big guy arms/hands, and generally sucks! On the plus side, a regular Lude or Accord flys by easily after doing an SH!
I would say 12-15 hrs is about avg for a shop with a lift and tranny jack to properly do a clutch in an SH.

It'd probably be easier to just pull the motor to change the clutch in an SH.
