Well, I just purchased a brand new 2009 Honda Civic Coupe Auto EX with 33 miles on it. On the drive home, I noticed it pulled noticeably to one side. I'd be completely in the next lane within 5-10 seconds.

Should I be really worried that my brand new car has an alignment issue already?

 

Check your tire pressure. If that's not it: Take it to the dealership. I'm almost certain they'll align it for free seeing as it only has 33 miles on it.

Tire pressure is a big factor. My car pulls to left, right, up, down, sideways...if the tire pressure is off.

 

same i also noticed the car is really just touchy highways in the northeast are not by any means flat. they have a curvature from side to side like a bow. if im in the left lane and i let go of the steering wheel or hold it perfect in the center the car drifts to the left little by little if im in the right line same thing just to the right..

Nonetheless, I just got off the phone with the dealer, and they tell me it's normal for a new Honda car. They said to give the car 1500 miles to break in and they will do a free alignment afterward. I'm really not buying it.

I also don't want to wear the tires unevenly either. I may just try another dealer. I just don't know what kind of reaction I'll get servicing a day old car at another dealer.

 

Any dealer can do warranty work. It doesn't have to be the selling dealership. If anything, another dealer would be thrilled at the prospect of you becoming a service customer in the future.

If it's your first Honda, the drift may just be new to you. I have noticed that the recent models want a lot more steering input than the older generations. Road crown has a much more noticeable effect.

That is the biggest crap I've ever heard. Why would you wait 1500 miles to do an alignment???? If its off its OFF, the car is not magically going to realign itself after a "1500 mile break-in". Go back to the dealer and demand they fix it.

Not sure how honda works but I know when I bought my new yota I was told first year or 12,000 miles alignments were included.

 

when i got my FA5 two years ago one of the my Mich. MXV4s had a shifted belt causing it to pull a hard left, from my exprenices most cars with a pull will be right due to road crown. i would tell tell them to rotate your tires and if that fixes it they owe you one or two tires.

Its not honda, its the dealer not wanting to deal with a customer. It could be a number of things including the roads you drive on. take it back to the dealer and ask the sale/service person there that you just want somebody to confirm the car is ok.
