Default b18a1 in del sol won't pass smog in CA?

ok ive been reading around i have a b18a1 on hand and wanna throw it into my sol but theres some places saying that it wont pass the CA smog tests anyone know if this is true or why?

the b18a is from the 2nd generation integra. which is 90-93. one of the cali laws is that the motor you swap in must be the same year of the car is going in or newer. so the only way it would be legal is if your del sol is a 93 model and the motor is a 93. hope this helps

any one correct me if i'm wrong.
