96 itr cluster in a 1996 ls integra. Maybe broke?
I just got a 1996 integra ls and it has a JDM 96 spec itr cluster in it, when i got it originally it worked fine, every part of it the ebrake light and everything worked. WEll my hood shattered my windsheild and therefore theres been no hood on it for a few days and now the cluster just stopped working. Now nothing on the cluster works except my high beams blue light , it still lights up amber all over, and the red battery light when turning it over? I think the gas gauges is accurate ill know after tomorrow. Any ideas? I hope its not just a bad cluster?
Cliff notes:
cluster was taken out and checked everythings hooked up right
worked before just stopped working one night
high beams and battery light works
lights up amber still
does not read temp, odometer, tach, gas and no ebrake signal
replaced all fuses
clock doesnt work now.
and i was throwing a cel for secondary o2 and now thats not working?
Just tried a healthy jdm gsr cluster and it didnt work, so its wiring i guess? What else should i check?

just went ahead and rechecked fuses for the 4th time i had a 10a blown under the dash replaced it and noticed it was my cd deck blowing it, it seemed to be the idiot who wired the deck in rigged it so many of the wires were bare. Regardless i replaced it rewired it and checked all the plugs in the engine bay everythings fine. I did notice that the clock stopped working too? But its getting power? Like when u push the reset button? But doesnt stay on? [freak] IM GETTING PISSED
BTW gas gauges doesnt work, gas is cheap i mean real cheap i put 20 bucks in and it fills up and this morning i put 10 bucks in it didnt move the gauges but the gauge seems to be moving towards empty like normal?

thats weird i dont know how the alternator could mess up your cluster? maybe your wires got fried? no idea but ask whoever said that on how he came to that conclusion of figuring that out.....

A voltage regulator controls the electronics in the car, too much, too less, weird things happen, or stop working. I have seen cars where the interior lights and radio and clock start doing crazy things because of the regulation of the voltage within the components on of the car. With that changed, everything worked fine thereafter. Hondas generally have it inside the alternator, some have it inside the bay, and some actually have the control built into the ECU.
