i found a b18a1 with a vtec valve cover. take a look

i thought the a1 was just a non vtec ls engine????

 

that is what we affectionatly call an "ls/vtec"

ls bottom end with a vtec head. look it up you'd be suprised how many people use them, hell i have a half assembled one on an engine stand about 20 feet from me right now

 

x2 ls/vtec not a bad deal with the tranny too

 

yea thats what i thought. but sounds a lil too cheap for what it is??

 

with motors like these you really need to know whats in them.

with a bone stock ls bottom end (stock pistons and rod bolts) the ls/vtec is a timebomb so you really need to be SURE what went into building it.

 

looks a lil heaty lol,if you mechanically inclined i'd get it if not offer him $450 and pay someone else to fix up any problems

 

yea i heard it takes alotta work to make it reliable so i dunno

 

They obviously don't even know what they have. If you read up on here in the all motor section there is a thread that tell you how to build a reliable ls/vtec. If you half way mechanically inclined and know how to use a torque wrench and check bearing clearances then its not to difficult
