Default new to the board

hey guys im new to the boards. not exactly new to honda's as i had a 92 prelude 1st but this would be my 1st experiece w/ a crx/ b-series motors. i am currently considering buying an 88 crx. extremely clean body. has 233,000 miles on car. my questions are i want to do a b16 swap. will the stock tranny bolt up to a b16? also what extras will i need if i get a jdm motor? finally what kinda of hp/ 1/4 mile times could i expect w/ a b16, full exhaust, cold air intake, intake manifold, fuel injec/ pump and a 75 shot? thanx in advance guys.

haha. no problem mang. im a mod on another forum that deals with things like my avatar. anyone who comes on there and asks for help because theyre afraid of their first backflip is just as likely to get flamed as you did... but, everyone deserves their grace period, imo. ha.

i dont know about the quarter mile times or hp, but a b16 in a crx is something else. in terms of extra parts, again, im a newb, but hmotorsonline.com has been an informative site for me.

I AM being nice.... Click my recent topics and see how many helpful replies I have given tonight, pleae.... do.

People like this should just have the threads rot without a single reply. Some people just aren't willing to do anything for themselves and it ends up biting them in the ***.

A complete reply to the question(s) he was asking in the original post would never be answered by any single person.... Which is why searching multiple threads and getting a whole bunch of replies is superior to just coming on and asking an outright noob question.

The project he is about to be undertaking should not be taken lightly..... he wants me to give him an exact answer as to everything he would need to do the b16 swap and them i'm supposed to guess his 1/4 mile times????

Somewhere in there i'm gunna forget to mention the dust rings on the axles or the fact that he needs to wire up a knock sensor....

Hell, noone even knows if the car is mpfi yet or not..... See where i'm coming from? When it comes right down to it.

Research > spoon feeding

1. Q. will the d series tranny bolt to the b series?
A.no. you can use a cable b series tho so you dont have to do a hydro conversion

2. Q. WHst extras will you need if you buy a JDM motor?
A. well since you live in texas smog doesnt matter. for it to bolt to your crx you will need Some mounts (either hasport or innovative) you will also need shift linkage, ECU, and axles. if you buy an OBD1 or 2 motor you will need a conversion harness and ECu that goes with the motor. im pretty sure thats it.......

3. Q. What quarter mile times will you run?
A. around 14.7 stock. pending on driver and interior

Thats not it... there is more. For instance, banging out the clearance on the frame rail for the alternator pulley... Among other things.

My statement stands.
