I have a 98 prelude and the idle jumps from 700 rpm to 1500 or some times idles at 1500 then that's wen the idle jumps up n down the kar also bogs some times when I accel I cleaned the iacv adjusted the fast idle vale n cleaned the throttle body im also running the p0j ecu accord lx it came with the car is there a ecu I can plug up to it n run my car like normal or is it cas im runin a p0j ecu which is causin my problem? Sorry long senstence its cas im at work and on my side kick I don't know what else to check for I need help!

 

its an intake leak, trying spraying carb cleaner on and around your intake manifold and see if the idle stops surging. I did this about a year and half ago and found that I had a small leak in my intake manifold gasket... good luck. Somebody else is gonna have to chim in for the OBD2 questions, OBD1 FTW!

 

Alrite koo ill try it when I get home what I noticed is that I was runing a 37820 poj l61 ecu. I no its a 97 accord but I don't know what model it is but when it was in my 5th gen it had a cel light. I just swap to another accord ecu which is 37820 poj l11 this one has no cel and no vtec but so far its been ok I still had trouble idling. Also when I was driving home I started it up from cold and drove it after at a light it started surging so I gased it and it got worse it didn't want to go. My buddy is sayin it might be iacv or get better gas cas m pumpn 87 but yah ill see how the new ecu works out ill let u guys no

 

The cel came back on ill have it checked today I also switch gas to 91 but I still get surging at the light but ill try again to spray on the intake manifold gasket I don't think I did it good enough but we'll see when I get home
