I bought this HID kit and when i install it today it melted the plastic cyclinder that goes around the bulb.

Do i need that plastic cyclinder or can i put it in without it?

uhhh....

your supposed to take the cylinder off. it protects te bulb in transit

have fun getting tickets with ur headlights and not having a high beam also...my friend has a non retrofitted HID PnP kit and i make her pass me everytime she is following me on the highway since it looks like she has highbeams on with no cut off

 

I havent had any trouble out of mine, and no complaints from any of my friends that ride in front me
