heater core removal.
i need to remove the heater core of my 1995 civic ex. i have a leak from one of the copper hoses inside my cabin, that i believe is causing my coolant to disappear and is actually flooding my cabin. i have already removed the dashg of the vehicle, i went to remove the heater core (complete) i removed the visible bolts holding it on, but it still seems to be held by something. does anyone know how to remove this????
Theres a stud that goes through the firewall with a nut on the engine side just above the inlets on the heater core. You also need to remove the A/C evaporator if you have A/C.
ey i got everything out. i must admit it looks better without all that stuff, but i found out that the copper outlets for the hoses in the engine bay are both bent. flat. which is why the clamp wudn't seal the hose properly im guessing. im either gonna take it to get fixed or replace pending on$$$? what remedy do i have now if i need to drive my car? because i have to loose coolant hoses that are supposed to connect to my heater core, but since i cannot replace at this time, i need a remedy. anybody have an idea. i think "davefrompa" put one out there, but i didn't undertsand it that well....any help?
take the two loose hoses
put a section of copper pipe in one of them that is about 2-3 inches long
clamp down on that side of the pipe in the tube with the clip that is already on the hose.
put the other hose on the exposed end of the pipe.
clamp that down with the clip that is already on the hose.
it will make the two hoses connected
