Honestly I just use ZEP glass cleaner from home depot. its in a areosol can, and is foamy so it doesnt drip or run. Use a microfiber towel and windows come out great. and its cleap.

any mass automotive retailer clear spray glass cleaner soaked on a folder MF, then buff with either the other side of the folded MF or a fresh MF. ammonia free, tint safe, no mess........

Anything with ammonia can clean glass, the ticket is to find the best possible rag to use to wipe it with.
Non cotton pure polyester rags or newspaper are the best to use. Microfibers tend to leave fuzz behind in my experience.

this is called linting. poorly designed MF towels will do this...from my write-up in the FAQ-
microfiber towels- there is a lot of info on the web highlighting that all microfiber is NOT created equal! The stuff you get from any chain store like Wal-Mart, Advance, Target, etc is low end and not ideal for use on paint. It might feel soft, but the way it’s made is not ideal. The fibers are not split the way they should and can actually be abrasive and/or come apart (called ‘linting), the edges are typically not the same texture as the towel and can scratch, and the tags are typically sewn on as opposed to stick on like high quality towels. There is better choice for paint. That is not to say that these towels are useless. They can be very nice for glass, interior work, etc. I say "can be" because some towels emit lint, and that can be a real pain in the *** on glass. I have a boat load of Advance MF towels that I use for everything but paint (glass, dash) and they do not lint or give me any issues. The best towels for paint are those sold by companies that manufacturer high-end detailing accessories. Some companies, like Autogeek/Cobra towels and PakShak/MicroPak towels, offer very high quality towels that will not lint and will not scratch. There are several types of towels for different types of tasks- drying, removing polish/compound, buffing waxes and spray detailers, etc. There are so many different kinds and sizes that it’s best to log onto the manufacturer websites for Cobra or MicroPak to see the differences. I will touch quickly on washing microfiber towels. Whatever you do, do not wash them with other clothes or items, do not use any fabric softener in either the washing machine or dryer, and do not dry on anything but low heat. The best detergent to use for MF is either a mass market detergent marketed as a “free” detergent, with no extraneous additives, or a specific microfiber detergent. I use something called DP microfiber cleaner.
alot of it has to do with how it's kept, but it also has to do with the towel.

interestingly enough, the only MF towels i've had lint on me when doing glass was an order of 6 (well, 7 - bonus) of Cobra indigo towels from autogeek! they lint horribly on glass, they leave uniform little clear pieces all over the place. i've tried everything to help them (boiling, all types of washing and drying, etc) and nothing helped so i just use them for product removal and instant detailer work. they won't scratch my paint, which is what i want, but man, they lint! it's funny that my advance towels outperform these for glass haha
i talked to autogeek after dealing with it for a while and they just gave me credit for all of the towels to use on my next order, which i did. they said they've never heard of this issue with Cobra towels and i might have gotten a bad batch.
