Default clifford matrix 70.5x and remote start help?!?!?!?!

installing both in my 98 hatch and ran into a snag!!! any help would be great!!!!

first thing first.... the alarm!!! these are the wires im having problems with.
H1/7 BLUE (-) multiplexed input.... is this the trunk pin input? WTF!!! is multiplexed?
H1/10 WHITE/BLUE (-) remote start activation input..... do i even need this? can i leave it out?
auxiliary harness.. is this needed? the only wire i see that might be used is the (-) second unlock? what is second unlock? i dont have a factory alarm and my car isnt a desiel!!! i dont see a need to use channel 4 and 5. should i scrap this harness?
H3/5 BLUE/WHITE (-) 200 ma 2nd status/rear defogger- latched/pulsed? i dont even know where to start with this one!!!!

ok the remote start... what does (starter side) and (key side) mean? whats the best way to hook up these wires? this is what i think i know
1 PURPLE (+) starter out to start (starter side) goes to BLACK/WHITE
2 GREEN starter input from ignition (key side) ???????????
3 RED (+) high current 12 volt input goes to WHITE
4 ORANGE (+) output to accessory circuit goes to YELLOW
5 PINK (+) output to primary ignition circuit goes to BLACK/YELLOW
6 RED (+) high current 12 volt input goes to WHITE
7 PINK/WHITE (+) output to second ignition ??????????? is there one?
8 RED/WHITE (+) high current 12 volt input goes to WHITE

is there a better place to pull 12 volt then the harness?? is the one open plug on the fuse panel a high current 12 volt constant? if so can i run my 3 wires to that spot? any help would be awesome!!!

H1/7 BLUE is hood or trunk, multiplex is a single wire that can do multiple funtions, if the blue wire gets a short pulse, it does "warn away", full trigger if it gets a longer pulse.

H1/10 WHITE/BLUE remote start activation is for use with an external input, such as a GPS unit (activate remote start from across the country in cold or extended park situations), you dont need it.

H3/5 BLUE/WHITE 2nd status can be used for key bypass modules, many new vehicles have PATS or VATS type systems with coded keys, this is for that funtion. Defogger can be wired so when remote start is activated this wire will trigger the defogger circuit, latched (locked on) or pulsed (short duration) depending on the application.

The purple and green wires for starter goes as follows. You have the black/white starter wire from the car, you cut it and now have two sides, purple goes to the "starter" side, meaning the half of the wire going down to the starter or out of the key harness. The green wire goes to the remaining half of the cut black/white from the "key" cylinder going up to the key.

Your listings for the other ignition feed and power wires are correct, except your vehicle doesnt reqire a second ignition, cap it off. You can locate power at the fuse block to power up the alarm (red in H1 harness) or to the battery with a fuse. You will want to run the larger guage red remote start satellite wires to the white wire supplying the key. The 3 taps on the fuse block are 12+, ingnition, and illumination +

The factory default is parking lights flashing on remote start. You can change this feature thru the valet switch, its in the #3 menu listed remote start options, change it from parking lights flashing to parking lights constant.

Hey guys, I've just started my remote start install also. Having some trouble though, I found IT LBS's post and followed the wiring you did. The car cranks but only for a split second. Did you by chance run into this too? Maybe KRock459 would know what's up. I also tried disabling the engine check so that it just cranks for the programmed amount of time and still the same thing happens.

Sounds like the two way remote is not funcioning properly, most often it is the two way remote. The remote can still send but not receive. I have seen a small drop take out the remote, usualy breaks a solder joint on the PC board. It is rarely a antenna or alarm/install issue that causes this issue.

I would try to reprogram the remote first (key on, door open, press and release valet switch once, then press and hold valet switch, wait for one confirmation chirp followed by pressing the unlock button on the remote twice.....release valet sw).

Sounds like a faulty remote, not the first time I have seen it. They are fairly easy to break, what I have found is the solder connection inside the remote, it can easily be repaired. I would look into replacing it first thou. When/where did you purchase the alarm?

DEI has what may be the best customer/tech support in the industry from my daily dealing with them. Remotes on the other hand, are harder to get replaced under warranty, it is often considered "customer abuse" no matter how old the remote, worth a try thou. Have you contacted sonic electronix to see what thier warranty covers?

I have a question, is sonic electronix an authorized DEI dealer?

You will not get customer support from DEI unless you purchased your DEI system from an authorized DEI dealer, you will not get manufacturers warranty from DEI unless you purchased your DEI system from an authorized DEI dealer. 94

BTW you may want to check S/E warranty policy... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/warranty_policy.php

There not the ones to blame. They are supporting us authorized dealers like they said they would, unlike some vendors. You just don't walk in and say hey.... I want to be a dealer. They state it on there policy that your not covered. Just send it back to the place that you bought it.

Why should they do anything, you got the system from an unauthorized dealer.

You chose to buy from an unauthorized dealer to get a better price, now you have a problem with the system, why would you expect DEI to help you.

You get what you pay for, you did not pay to get DEI support so why would you expect it?

You get what you pay for, fill out the "rma" pay for shipping, [and insurance] wait 10-14 days and you will get the help you paid for, 94

why should they help????? let me tell you. ITS THERE F**KIN PRODUCT!!!! it doesnt matter where i got it!!! it all comes from the same place!!!!! its called costomer support which they dont have a clue about. it shouldnt matter if im a dealer or a certified installer. they were rude and unhelpfull. the least they could have done is suggest the best way to deal with the defective product that they sold to someone and then was sold to me. its like buying a honda at one dealership and taking it to another to get it serviced and them telling you they wont work on it cause you didnt buy it from them. i have warrantied many things in the past and never had a problem. its really to bad that they dont stand behind there products and the people that chose to use them. seems to me that all there interested in is getting your money, then when they do, they dont give a $#!T about you. ok enough about that..... thanks again guys for your support, even though i never bought a thing from any of you, you guys were willing to help me out. thats customer support at its finnest!!!! good luck with your future projects!!!

oh and FCM..... i payed 400 dollars by the time i got the alarm in my hands. i decided to get the alarm from the place that would ship it to me, i live in vancouver canada. if i bought a knock off from a flea market then maybe i wouldnt have anything to complain about. the guy at DEI didnt ask where or how i got it, for all he knew i did buy it from an authorized dealer. it just seemed to me that they wanted to clean there hands of the problem, not make sure that the customer is happy with the product. so save your smartass remarks for some who gives a $#!T!!!! if i wanted that kinda help i would just call DEI again. and for those who had some helpfull suggestions on how to deal with this.... thanks again.

It may be their product, but they didn't sell it to your online site, my guess is it is recalled for salvage because it has a problem, it is then sold to the highest bidder for salvage, the buyer then sells it to non authorized dealer at much better profit then salvage.

It is not at all like buying a Honda at one dealer and having it serviced at another Honda dealer, the other Honda dealer is an authorized dealer, it is a lot more like buying a written off Honda from an insurance company and expecting Honda to still cover warranty.

Your just pissed because you thought you where getting a good deal and now your finding it's not that good a deal, suck it up. nuff said. 94

I am standing behind F.C.M. on this one. If you would of read the policy on were you bought it from it says they are not allowed to sell dei products. Dei does not have any rights to help at all. If you would of bought it from a dealer they would of been very glad to help you. FCm explained it perfect. I am tired of the internet killing my business. Its to the point to were I won't even install a internet bought dei product. And dei is telling their dealers not to if you don't want to. I don't even have to exchange any products that are not bought from a dealer. I warranty all dei products as long as you have a valid dealer receipt. I'll just send it back for credit. Why should we do it for other people that are not dealers, Cut the price below m.a.p. Most of the time below dealer cost. And then the products is mostly second hand.

IF you don't mind the wait and extra cash being spent on returns and the time to get it back. Then go to the non-dealer that you bought it at. If you would of bought it from a dealer it would of been taken care of right then.

I not sure who you called or or how you talk to. But if you call under warranty they do ask what dealer did you purchase your alarm thru.

Here you will get help no matter were you got the alarm thru. Some dealers may not help but some will.
