How about the sixth gen Civic CD player?

Unfortunately it's underpowered and sounds kind of bad

I put my radio in the glove box. Its a JBL marine radio with a remote face, the actual electronic box is behind the dash. Then I put a JDM radio block off plate, looks super clean this way with the glove box closed. Got lots of comment on how good it looks, and on top of that nobody would even think of stealing my radio since they cant see it.

It looks good but will it fit in a 91 hatch w/o major mods? btw, do you also have a tahitian green civic/crx?

Can you post a picture of your radio setup inside and outside the glovebox? Thanks

How about this radio? Does anyone know if it will fit, plug-n-play in a 91 Civic Hatch?

The 01-05 Civic radio has that wierd ear thing on the right side (not square faceplate), so it would not fit an EF without some dremel help...and then it would look assworthy.

If you pick one up from ebay, make sure they say it works and has a code.

No, that CD player will not fit. It is not square, the top is angled.

Yeah, it will fit perfectly. It's single DIN (the CD player anyway--the tape deck is separate) and uses the same OEM plug.

And yeah, I have a teal 91 Si hatch You can see a closeup of it to the left of this post

basically any single din Honda stereo will be plug and play as long as it's 1997 or older. They changed the wire harness plug after 97 or 98. I have a 95 Accord CD player... fits really nice.

Yea I'll take some pic's. If you want to see the radio see link below;
http://marineradiodirect.com/c....html

The only reason why I have a marine radio is becasue I took it off my jetski. I thought it was kinda silly having a radio on a jetski, beside I could'nt even hear it at 70mph.

Are you selling the CD player? I wonder if the CD player would fit on a EF9 JDM console, u know, the one with the ashtray and cigarette lighter. It looks like the picture of your CRX but it's from a EF9. Right now, I have a storage DIN on it. I've seen an OEM equilizer installed on it.

Wow nice, I've never seen that before. I have (what I think is) the OEM tape deck for my 91 Civic Si, and it looks slightly different...

Do you have any pics of both of them in your car? Looking at the first pic it looks like the whole harness is connected, why'd you separate them?

My fellow Tahitian Green Civic. Yes, I have the same deck you have on this picture. It's kinda nice to see other OEM decks on Civics and CRXs from around the world.

You're selling that deck on craigslist, aren't you? I was going to pick it up for my EF, but it looks beaten.

Yeah, that's my deck. haha, the front is just really greasy. I didn't clean it before I took that pic....I should probably do that, eh? I found a cassette in the car and it sounded like **** on the tape deck...I didn't try any other tapes, so it could've been the tape, the heads, or both. You would need to clean the heads on any old deck though. The radio works perfectly fine, if that's what you're after, you would just need a new volume button.

Can you take a picture of the back of this OEM unit? I have the same one in my car but I'd like to replace it with a OEM radio/cd player unit so I want to make sure I will buy the right one. Thanks

All OEM Honda radios 88-97 (IIRC those are the years...in 98 they added two prongs) have the same plug. I just took a photo for you:

The OEM radio is on top. Below it is a copy of the tape deck I have in my car (yeah I have two of them) with the harness you need to plug it in. It was as easy as unplugging one and plugging the other in

Soooo in retrospect I don't know if the EM1 (amber) CD player will be plug and play for you, because on the 98+ they added two prongs to the middle of the top row. So you probably have to get an adapter for that. Or you could try going for the Pre-98 (green) Civic CD player, or even the DC Integra player.

Since i've found this Lower Center Console with the OEM Equalizer i've been looking for an OEM CD Headunit... but i guess they are a bit of a rarity aswell.
