Default White smoke when Vtec kicks in.. what could it be?

Im running a stock gsr with I/E/H and 2.5 piping with a high flow cat.
The skunk2 pro series manifold, itr header, 2.5 piping, high flow cat, were all new.
After breaking it in for a week I engaged in Vtec and white smoke comes out.
Is it just the oil in the new header? or something else?
When I had 2.25 piping, no cat, and a jasma header, there was no white smoke when vtec hits.

hrmm.. interesting.. but Im not new to vtec.. it never smoked with my old setup.. no cat, 2.25 piping, and a jasma header. So why is it smoking now?

its pretty normal from what i've seen for older motors to smoke a little up high...is it going through any oil?

sounds like that new sk2 manifold is leaning it out.

white smoke= lean; is the car tuned at all?

no its not tuned.. running stock obd1 ecu. but the thing is I put on my skunk2 manifold like 5 days before getting new piping and adding the header. and it never smoked.. then when I replaced it with the new header and 2.5 straight piping, it smokes when vtec kicks in.. so I got a high flow cat for it and after it still smokes but not as bad as before..

I beleive the Itr header I have has some oil inside.. maybe thats causing it to smoke? maybe I should break into it for a while and then it will go away?

Yes it will smoke when oil comes into contact with a hot header

but how did oil get in there in the first place???

Its more than likely ur vavle seals

high RPM = higher Oil pressure = more leakage

How did it get there? From the pcv valve, you know, where it circulates the oil combusted inside the crank and head and shoots it inside the intake manifold and out of the engine.

is that bad? is it suppose to shoot oil into the intake manifold and out of the engine or is there something wrong with my setup?

white smoke can be a blown head gasket too. what does it smell like?

it actually doesnt smell like anything.. I mean can it just be bigger piping? or maybe a new header? the day before I installed everything the car ran fine and there was no white smoke when I hit vtec.. then the next day when I upgraded the piping and header, theres white smoke when I hit vtec..

how do u no its just when u hit vtec? is it on a dyno or its super big smoke u can see from your rearview mirror? it might have just opened everything up and made it flow out faster. i have white smoke from mine and its always been like that. and my head gasket is brand new so i dunno if the car runs fine i wouldnt worry. when i went to smog it looked super bad but it passed lol

because when Im driving normal theres no smoke.. then when I hit vtec you see a puff of white smoke.. I see it in the rear view mirror. and to confirm this I held on to the gas pedal until it hits vtec, then I see white smoke

No, it is suppose to do it stock, that is what the pcv valve is for, when oil combusts inside the engine block, it needs to leave, so it is routed into the intake manifold an out. I mean, it isn't bad but it gets oil inside your intake manifold and on valves etc. But you can get a oil catch can, it goes in between the pcv valve and intake manifold and catches some of the oil before it makes it to your intake manifold.

yeah.. I remember installing my skunk2 manifold I actually needed a longer hose to route from the breather box and the pcv to the manifold. but some motors such as b20vtec and ls vtec dont have a breather box..

yeah.. the skunk2 manifold is the exact replica but I have a gsr therefore I didnt have an itr manifold. Headers Im going to invest in that in the future. saving up money right now but I still need to figure out If I should replace my headgasket

keep an eye on your oil level, if its not using any oil then dont worry about it.

you know what my oil level is going down a bit but its because of an oil pan gasket because I can see where the oil is leaking little by little.. Im about to replace the gasket soon

changing the piping is not going to make it smoke especially if its been on for a week or so.
the engine produces the exhaust emissions, the exhaust only vents it out.

as for smoke.
white-burning water
black-fuel (too much)
blue-burning oil

it is normal for some white smoke (steam) for a short while when warming up after start up.
