so im buying a car that is clean title but has a gsr swap in it no paper work he said he bought it at a shop in hayward and i went to the dmv and ask them if they can check the vin number for the gsr and they said it was salvage title they told me cuz auto auctions association owns it nothing farther i wanted to know if the car was ever stolen but im on a budget and dont want to pay for carfax

then i called chp and gave them the vin number they said chp doesnt have an interest in this vehicle what does that mean?

and also if anyone can help me get the vehicle records or lend me an account so i can use ?it that would be great too please help

I'm assuming when they told you chp doesnt have any interest in it.. meaning it's not stolen.. they're not looking for the car, etc.

unfortunately i doubt you will find someone with a carfax account that they will let you borrow.. also violates the honda-tech terms of service.
