Default Crx Si Sunroof Problem

Ok i have this problem with my sunroof on my 91 crx si..
It opens fine but it wont close when i push the switch...
so for the past month i've been closing it manually but i want to get it to close on its own.. anyone got any ideas what it might be ? i went to the shop and they charging me 400 dollars to get that sunroof fix. I dont think its the motor right ? since it opens it should close back ... help me out plz. thanks

it might be the cable binding up trying to reel it back in

i'm having similar problems with mine. usualy when it opens it doesnt want to close and sometimes it wont even open. also when it doesnt open the wipers dont work either and thought they might share the same relay and that was going, just havent had a chance to dig any deeper yet. let me know if you have any luck

Default sunroof

or faulty switch.

there is a thread on I think crx resources about taking your sun roof switch apart. getting rid of the contact build up on the rocker switch.

I did mine a couple of years ago and it works great.

hes spot on thats what was wrong with mine. I'd have to push the button 2-10 times to get it to open / close sometimes.

i had one with a bad switch. it did the same thing. it would open but not close. i got a differant switch and it worked like a champ.

or you could just get rid of the roof and go jdm glass top and not have sunroof problems. that'd be bad ***.

Yea its just the switch. I just replaced it with a nicer newer oem one. was like 15 or 20 bucks from the dealer.

Hey wsup everyone.
I read all the advice you guys gave me and that helped me out alot. Thanks.
btw, where can I find a jdm glass top ? That sounds even better. Does it open-close auto or is it just a pop up ?

it doesnt open at all instead of the sunroof the sir's roof was almost entirely glass. if i was gonna go for the glass roof i would just buy a real sir and not mess around cutting and welding.
