Default Function Form 32way adjus. VS D2 RACING SPORTS RS 36 WAY adjus.

Im going to be purchasing suspension FINALLY for my BB6 NHP Prelude.
I want a suspension setup that is a complete coil-over system. I need something that is very RELIABLE. I am in school and dont have extra cash to spend if I blow or break something.
I also need somthing that is able to be slammed, just in case I decided to go that low in the summer .

These two suspensions are in my price range. Which ones would you guys go for and why?
Also were are the cheapest places I can get these setups?
P.S. I plan on getting 17X7.5 Advan Rgs.

Where I plan on purchasing them:

Im leaning towards the D2s because they are $135 cheaper. But how low can the D2s go compared to the F2s?

why does slammability matter so much?

that completely kills any functionality of damn near any coilover.

They're both crap. Best option is Koni Sport's and Ground Control, or Koni and Eibach or H&R lowering springs.

x2, significantly reduced travel will put you on your bumpstops. Not only will the performance and ride be crap, they'll be gone in much shorter time.

I want to have the ability of going that low, so I wont have to go out and get another $1000 suspension setup.
And I had Tokico illumnias and GC coilovers on my old bb4, I had two problems with them:
The front didnt go nearly as low as I wanted
The adjusting rings froze and wouldn't move after a few months of winter use

That is why I'm done with 2 piece suspension setups
Up!!! for more votes

Heres my old GC setup

I've been there done that. People have suggested I do this a few years ago for my first prelude. I ended up spending 700 on getting tein s-techs, and tokico blues. The drop wasn't low enough and the suspension wasn't stiff enough for me. So i had to spend another 1000 on new tokico illumnas and GC coilovers.

I want the ability to change the height of the car, depending on wheel size and tire thickness. I also want the dampening adjustment to stiffen it up the lower i go to prevent the car from scrapping the floor. I also like the fact the shocks are both preloaded.

I want to spend this amount ONCE, not twice like my old car.

Actually you sound like the perfect candidate for the shocks you mentioned. You'll fit right in with the rest of the people who buy them. Don't think you're not going to experience seized adjusters though, they're mostly a problem in single piece damper assemblies. GC doesn't usually have that problem.

We're not even getting into the quality and performance issues of those shocks. Not only do they use a needle valve design which isn't great, the companies who produce them have no motor sport experience whatsoever. Dyno's of those shocks look like crap. Goes to show ricers will buy anything with pretty paint on it.

I don't condone 'slamMeD yO' lowering, but if you want to lower the car excessively and not blow your shocks and keep some modicum of performance, you have to get shortened Koni's and use extended top hats like the ones made by GC.

Your ricetastic. Why even spen the money on FF, D2's etc.. Go even cheaper and find the purtiest and cheapest coilover ebay has to offer. They will all serve the same pupose for you. Which is looks and nothing more...

lol.

I'm guessing I shouldn't even ask about those "C8's" on ebay. This is making me just want to get illumina's and gc setup and stay away from f2 and D2's.

vinuneuro, where would I get shortened Konis and extended top hats?
And I don’t mean slammed as in scraping the floor, but low/aggressive with 17 inch wheels (if that matters)
