starting problems in the mourning!!!!1
Ok soI just bought the car and in the mourning it is really hard to start. I have a check engine light that is coming up telling me that it is the coolent temp sensor. Also I dont think that the fuel filter has ever been changed. would those cause me to have to push the pedal to the floor and pump it to get it to start in the mourning
Mourning? It's spelled morning!!!!!!!!
Pushing the gas pedal to the floor turns off the fuel injectors. Sounds like it flooding when you try to start it. My 240SX used to do that at certain temperatures. It was really weird.
Also, how old is your distributor cap and rotor?

Clogged fuel filter could be a culprit; coolant temp sensor shouldn't really cause starting problems. To check on your sensor problem, make sure your coolant is topped off and if it hasn't been changed in a while flush it out and refill. Make sure you reset your ECU after you do this (just pull the 7.5amp fuse in the engine fuse box). Worse case you have to buy a new temp sensor, but I kind of doubt that's the problem.
