Default 1st project! "My EF sedan" (lots of pics)

I bought this car form my brother in-law and i've had it for about 2 yrs now. Its an 1989 Civic Sedan Dx. About 6 months ago I decided to "try" to restore it myself. Now let me remind everyone that I have NEVER done any kind of body work or painted a car. So with that said here is what I started with! By the way the car is almost done now but I have tons of pics from the work i've done to it! Hope you guys like it, and plz comment on it. However if I still have the car when I have the cash to send it to a body shop and get it done right, I will!

new rocker panel will be needed for under the doors, and the rear of the car see if you can destroy all the rust with a nice wire wheel.

epoxy primer that ****.

Are you going to show us some after pics? I mean you talk about it already being "restored"?

Ok! Ok! you guys convinced me here are some more pics!!!

Now notice the rear wheel well is not curved right!!!! Well like I said my first time ever doing bodywork and I don't know how to weld. I had a HUGE hole after cutting of all the rust so I took some sheet metal and riveted on there! Then I covered it up with bondo, so critizied if you wish but its the best I could do. I tried!

Rust be gone! For now anyways!

Shaved the rear emblems of EXCEPT for the "H"!

looks good but try to cover all the bondo with either A) Epoxy primer, so the water doesn't go thru the primer you have on it. or B.) Primer Sealer for the same reason.

Time for more pics!

Here it is getting it ready for primer!

Befor I primed the entire car with the same primer I had to do other work! I kept running out of primer cans and the part store never sent me the same color so I had to use what I had!

I'm not a pro but remember cover up everything you dont want paint on!

keep working on the rockers yo... you will HATE yourself if you get it painted and you see all the imperfections. just go back and keep block sanding the **** out of it.

seriously the best advice i could give you would be to keep working on the rockers...

keep going at it till you get it... a good way to see if there is any low spots or high spots would be to use a guide coat. what i mean by this is either dust the area you are working on with a black spray paint or a real guide coat (its a power). this this before you sand down the primer... it will show all the imperfections like the low spots & sanding scratches.

also... the rest of the body work doesn't look too bad.

you don't have to prime the whole car btw (car paint makes a good primer if it hasn't been worked on) . only spots you worked on, or sanded with like 60 - 120 grit. and make sure you blend the hardlines from where you had the car taped off to prime... like on the doors n ****. i bet it will look pretty good when your done.

Well here it is all primed! To bad I dont have a booth, so dont expect perfection!

I bouht this kit on ebay for $80 shipped!
It works great!

Then I wetsanded the primer to smooth it out!

After the wetsand I had to tape it all over again! To get it ready for paint!
