i use the car for corners, like low mph corners, so i dont really want top end power, i want the power in the low mph range. and also i like quick launches from 2nd to 4th gear.. never like to get into fifth speeds... just like being able to smoke being going down the street...

you dont want top end power? honda vtec motors thrive in higher rpm's. you wont get much low end until you install f/i

stick with an LS if you want to boost it. Supercharge it to keep the power lower and get rid of the lag. just rebuild an LS for with a few upgrades (pistons, exhaust APR bolts) and you'll have a pretty decent DA for a very low cost compared to the other swaps

well what i meant by low end power is not low rpm's i want low speed power... like 2-3rd gear power... i mean i'm always in the high rpm range so i need something that can handle being at high rpms for long time spans.....

well all honda engines can stay in the high rpms for a while if taken car of properly.. The b18A your car came with is one of the more (torquey) engines of its class. If your using it for autocross or something like that just do intake header and exhaust.

you should be fine

b16b with b18c rods and crank make quite a nice engine.

i was wantin the Type R because is a damn type R and its the sh*t, like i was saying, i like to be able to pull on anyone i come encounter with and be able to have good power going through the tight corners, i hit anywhere from 10mph corners (well 10mph suggested) to 40mph corners (again 40mph suggested not acutal speed) thats where im wanting my power. ultimatley i want my power from 20mph to around 75mph.... right now im runnin a b18a1 and a b16 tranny, im likin the short gears but still want more power to push those gears

i have what you could call a type r + motor and it's fun, faster than a stock GSR but it won't make your head spin. i would go with what you have low cost access to. either do the 18c1 and use it as it sits with a p72 ecu or if you do something custom get as many cubic inches as you can. a b20 bottom end with decent parts and a p72 or pr3 head will be your low cost way to more cubes. i would probably try and find a 18c1 with good compression with an ecu. $1500 gets you one around here. if it were me i would probably buy a JDM from hmotorsonline.com. GSR long blocks are $1699 and come out of low mile cars. if you don't build a new motor most of the JDM stuff is lower mileage than what people have driven the **** out of over here.

anything but a sohc....... unless that sohc was turbo'ed. Or have bisi shipp you one of his sohc monsters, lol. It all depends on what you want. Power, budget becomes a factor. And just because its a itr motor does not make it a street terror. My lsvt-t will walk all over a stock itr. So would a well built gsr or lsvt.

I would rebuild your bottom end and slap on a vtec head. Atleast you know your bottom end is built and has 0 miles. Get some nice cams, valve train if you decide to go wild. And make sure you get the dam thing tuned. That is the key

if there built right there just like any other motor as long as you take care of them..to many people think that cause they put on a head that can go to 9000rpms the whole engine can..not the case unless you build the block.

But on a side note my buddy has a lsv that he drives daily and put probably 50,000 miles on it(since hes had it) and its still running great
