Just bought a 2000 Honda Civic Si
I just got my hands on a 2000 Honda Civic Si!! with 88,000 miles. I bought it for $9,800, It runs perfect! all OEM stock
I am fairly certain the timing belt and water pump were never changed on this car, and I was wondering when it is recommended to change it. I had thought it was about 90K miles, but someone just told me 60K miles.
I also want to lower it about 2 inches.... but i want to do it right... I don't want to heat the spring or anything like that! Im willing to pay good money for my new baby
I also know that my car is HOT, what is the best alarm system money can buy as of right now?
Any suggestions, thoughts?

Any alarm you get will be kinda useless unless you can install it yourself and hide all the important components in a unique spot. All alarm places will just do the standard install, which thieves already know how to bypass. I say your best bet is to go to the audio/video/security forum and look up how to install a fuel kill switch. Do that with a stealth alarm set up (there's a GPS tracking viper alarm that i heard is pretty good, but only if you got a pretty penny), autolock, wheel lock, wateva lock, but just put a few layers of security and you are good to go. Nice purchase
Welcome to honda-tech
.Def go lo jack from honda I priced it out at my local honda dealer and it was 600 installed. And if you have a specific spot you think you want it installed like a rear quater panel they will do it.

T belt interval= 105K miles, normal service. Change it anyway. Water pump, too.
Security= Ravelco(best "kill/immobilizer" on the market, I think), any DEI (Clifford, Viper, Hornet) 2-WAY alarm, and LoJack. GPS trackers are nice, but parking garages or big abandoned buildings defeat them(GPS needs to see the sky to work)
Check this out before you get an alarm>>> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1794938
As far as lowering, I dont think you can get any better springs than Eibach. Congrats on the new ride

I thought Honda timing belt intervals were at ~90k. Anyways, you can make your own fuel pump kill switch. Just tap into the fuel pump power wire and splice in a toggle switch. This sounds cliche but, try searching for info on fuel pump kill switches. As for the alarm, you can get a good 2 way pager alarm for cheap these days. DEI/Directed makes good alarms.
best get some kill switches, i have a 00 si and ive had two attempts while ive been at school. debadge the rearend too no need for that si logo just attracts theives and dumb kids with v6 mustangs
