help sohc vtec head
im hella confused, i want to drop a z6 head on my y7, what other parts do i need? i have the z6 intake manifold, z6 head, vtec solinoid, z6 valve cover. can somone list the rest of the stuff i need? im getting the p28 ecu soon. thanks
its in the faqs...only difference is your using a z6 head and they are using a y8 head....it should be about the same. of course there are obd differences...so idk how to help you on that part.

u think i can use any sohc vtec ECU? like from the older models. cause i was thinking of going to the junkyard and taking one off a si eg or somthing
You're going to need 9 head studs (or bolts) for the Y7 and 1 for the Z6, for the head to fit right. The 1 Z6 stud/bolt goes near the vtec solenoid.
If you have to pass emissions, you'll need an ECU that is close to the year of your car. If you're car is anywhere from '96-'98 (OBD2A), you'll need a '96-'98 ECU. If it's a '99-'00 (OBD2B), you'll need a '99-'00 ECU. If you don't need to worry about emissions, then you can use a '92-'95 ECU. But you'll need to buy an OBD2A or OBD2B (whichever OBD2 your car is) to OBD1 conversion harness, for the '92-'95 ECU to plug in.
