sqeaky belts and seizing brakes
alright, the belts stopped squeaking for a while. we brought it to the shop for a head gasket change, it gets back and i go for a ride...i was doing about 60mph and i turned on the a/c bc it started to rain...the belts started skreetching...pulled over and played with the pedal and revved it a few and it temp. stopped, ever since then it happens everytime i starter up...belts are brand new btw and they are well well well coated in belt dressing, when you touch them your hands become extremely sticky
now i told my dad its most likely the a/c compressor and he said some bs and i told him i could buy a accord belt for one that doesnt have a/c and he was like **** lets do that then haha so idk whats seriously going to happen, if it does end up happening like that, then my car will probably have better performance

An overcharged A/C system will show this symptom as well.
In effect, the low (suction) side is seeing refrigerant in a liquid state (it's supposed to be gasious) and the compressor's starting to lock up (doesn't like to pump a liquid). - thus the belt noise.
Next time, don't use elephant snot on the belts; it only attracts dirt and accelerates wear.

alright, now everything is working but for some reason when my honda is being driven to school in the morning, the brakes always seize up and make my rotors so hot that they sizzle and smoke....now i dont know what can cause this but its just too much for me, btw this only happens in the morning, its never happened after its being sitting for a while
Your brake pedal may not be fully releasing when your foot is off the pad. Check that it has at least some freeplay b4 you feel resistance,
This condition wouldn't let the calipers retract, they overheat, boil the brake fluid.... and the pressure increases even more...

I had a co worker with a 5th gen EX coupe have the same issue. He ended up having to replace both rear calipers because they were seizing up, appearantly due to aging.
Same thing happened to both of my 95 Teg's.
Same thing happened to both of my 95 Teg's.
yeah but how could i fix it man? i knew it must have been the pedal but i have absolutely no idea how to fix something like that...also someone else commented said it could be my caliper...is that true? bc i know there must be something wrond and to tell you the truth i just want to sell this for like 2700 or so and get the car i actually want bc this car was supposed to be temporary until i turned 18 for my bday present...now there been so much **** ive fixed that its to the point where im just fed up, i want a diferent car bc this one has pissed me off more than anything
see this car has so much potential...it just needs some love and care, but i figured i could pawn it off onto someone else for them to worry about future problems, i just want a freakin nova or a coupe integra or a coupe accord....i want something fast but durable, my car is nice but it rarely wants to drive yah know.

Has anyone had any reason to work under the dashboard of late? I'm trying to figure what might have possibly been disturbed.
There are two switches which function off the brake pedal
The Brake Light Switch
The Shift Interlock Switch (automatic)
or
The Cruise Control release Switch
If either of these were mis-adjusted, they could hold the pedal applied.
From which calipers do you witness smoke coming from?
All?
Front?
Rear?

all and yes dude, my brake light thing that makes it go on and off broke so my dad put a screw there, he just put in something else to see if that would change anything and today i didnt get stuck roadside but i felt it acting up once in a while but like barely
smoke comes from the front ones...but all lock up i think bc my dad jacked it up and like forced the pedal to get stuck and all wheels werent moving
oh and we inspected the calipers and they where dandy, my dad even cleaned em up

Bump reply.
I would send your dad (or yourself0 Spelunking under the dash again for another look at the brake pedal and the pedal/switch relationship again.
If either that 'screw' your dad put there for a temp measure, or some other factor is keeping the pedal from fully relaxing, it will keep the brakes applied.
The only other thing is that the brake master cylinder pushrod was misadjusted; but that's in the same area.

Pay particular attention to 14, 15 and 16

i really am starting to think it cant be that, when by brakes seized up and i pulled up on the pedal, nothing happened, it didnt release...and my dad put the car up on jacks and he messed with the pedal by like pushing it down over and over and then they locked up and the wheels locked so we figured its the ABS system, the fuse for it was checked and its good, any ideas now?
First, loosen the master cylinder where it mounts to the Brake Booster; enough so that it can move forward and back on the studs.
Test the brakes.
If they've released, it's either the push rod is misadjusted, or (again) there's something not allowing the pedal to pull back enough.
If they haven't released, crack open the brake pipe for the front brake system. If you find residual pressure - Sh**t-can the master cylinder.

Hey Toronto!
With the a/c compressor off, unfortunately no.
The pulley which drives the compressor spins on it's own bearing assembly and is isolated from the compressor by an electromagnetically operated clutch.
The pulley spins happily until the clutch is activated, linking up with the compressor.
I have seen these bearings fail, but it's usually accompanied by sounds best avoided and thrown belt(s)
I believe (in your application) the compressor is driven by it's own belt, so you could try temporarily removing it and giving the car a road test.
Perhaps the afore mentioned Butt-Dyno will notice a difference (there should NOT be)

alright, wierdest thing ever... my brakes just out of no where stopped doing it, my dad changed the little bolt and lubed up the brake joint...now my problem is the transmission...my friend said with this motor i cant just buy a fully built tranny, the only one that works with it is the f22b1 tranny and they really are peices of ****...so basically, [freak] my accord hahahaha...im just gonna drive it till i find a real car haha
i want an acura integra but im kinda afaid of jap cars now :[

You friend is of questionable value.
Before you go off, do a little research. Most all transmissions within the same generation will intermix. The most obviousl difference is final drive ratio's and if it's equipped with LSD (no! I mean Limited Slip Differential). A quick call (and a question) to your local Auto Recycler should give you all manner of interchangability options.
What's the tranny doing anyway?

Your running into issues b/c of how you drive the car. Your previous thread you stated that you drift the car. These were not made to be drifter cars.
The newest Teg you can buy now is a 2000 model year. You will have issues as well. If you take care of a Honda it will take care of you.
If you are so unhappy with the car, and feel it is not worth it for you, then why are you still trying to fix it. Your trying to get $2700 for it, but youve already put money in to repair it. When you finally sell it, after all the repairs, you'll be walking away with $2700 - the cost for all the repairs. The car will be running fine, and the next car you get, you will be in the same situation.
You are lucky to have a car at your age. There are people out there who cant even afford to heat their homes.
If you dont like Honda's and you can't trust them, then move on. All you do in your threads is whine and complain.

Ah yes the king of FWD e-brake drifters,
I think you should be very afraid of Jap cars. You would probably be better off looking for a Sunfire, Cavalier, Focus or a Neon and see how long they drift for........Leave the Honda's to the people who respect there quality features.
As for your transmission, I'm pretty sure you can bolt up any OBD1 H/F transmission of the same kind (A/T or M/T) and not have any issues. Like P_Adams mentioned the only significant differences are the final drive ratio and LSD or Non.

wow, i love my honda and i wash it and put all my money into and i wax it and i change its oil and i do everything to it to make it look great....yet everyone thinks that ohh he slides around on the roads in it he must not take care of his stuff. but seriously, everyone ive ever known always has a broken ipod, a broken tv, a broken computer, a broken etc. but all my life, other than cell phones and bones, nothin else has broken...truthfully i believe i treat my car swell, the only reason why i went out and tried to "drift" was bc my dad said we were going to trade it in for an american car and he told me to take it for my last ride and i did it once thinking oh well if something happens [freak] it, and then all of a sudden he changed his mind and then thats when more problems came along.
any how, no real problems at all now
my tranny is being a dumb c*nt
when i put it in gear it doesnt wanna move my honda..it just sits there, then again it only happens when im parked in the grass (minor oil leak) but anyhow, its been the same way all week and i havent broke down or overheated or anything so far
btw i was actually looking into buying my neighbors z24 haha funny you mentioned cavaliers though....but seriously, i truthfully love my car to death and there are so many things id like to do for it, but right now its up to my father and what he wants to do
oh and to the mofukka that said that i should be happy i have a car at 17...um my dad has 5 of his own vehicles, hes unemployeed, my mom has a shitty job and we barely make any money at my house, yet my parents know how to invest and know how to save there money and they've taught me all they know, my dad has 2 places rented out...i buy and sell cars like 3 times a year and make about 500$ off each one, and then i save it and invest it...when my family is down on money they take it from me...i have a job, i make minimum wage...and im going to college, now tell me sir, were u 17 going to college? i worked my *** off all highschool to get out a year early, not trying to be a dick or anything but truthfully i think i deserve a lot better than a 94 honda....hence the reason im actually trying to sell it so i can get something i could only dream about (golf gti)(integra)

if you drifted a car thinking you were gonna push it on some other sucker and then ended up keeping it and it has problems ...i call that irony and you got what you deserved..but anyway what you said about getting out of high school a year early?...who cares seriously..it just means you didn't ave a lot of fun in high school and studied all the time....beyond that i don't know what your point was...and you are lucky to have a car at 17 no matter how you look at it...and if your dad owns 5 vehicles and is unemployed that's his problem....so if you think you deserve alot better then a 94 honda then stop complaining and sell yours and buy another car
man, your saying i didnt have fun? wow, not bragging or anything...but i party probably every single weekend, all i did in high school was go there [freak]ed up in the morning, get suspended...and thats if i ever did went, i use to go up to daytona every other day with a bunch a friends and gallavant....the only reason i finished highschool early is bc ive always excelled im math and i got highschool classes out of the way before highschool which gave me more time to take the right classes to get out early....
also, yeah about that irony thing, when i read that i laughed my *** off hahaha i do agree....well i use to complain about it man but i stopped bc i realized that i actually should be happy i have a running car, even if it needs work. and truthfully i am IN LOVE with the accords body style...i want to put a bunch of money into but my dads telling me he wants me to have an american car bc he hates that honda engines have like 3 sensors, 2 switches, wire harness, just for like something as simple as the engine temp gauge....idk why bc to me its really simple and whenever i work on it i have no problems
anyways....how is having 5 cars, 2 boats, 5 properties his problem...if you asked me, i would call that really smart...my friends parents are both doctors and they both make around 100g's a year, and all they have to show for it is a house and 2 cars...and yeah i probably will get a diferent car, but its my dads choice...and he wants to give me his 74 apollo with a chev 350 engine, but my moms telling him she would rather be dead than see me driving around in a car that does around 165 mph any day of the week, my moms thinks that i have to have a car with airbags everywhere and everything working perfect
please people stop posting mean fukken replies and understand that i like having a good dammmn time when im driving, and that now i realize that i shouldnt be on a forum whining about my car being broke left and right, and also someone said something like putting more money into it then i will ever see again, but if a person comes over and takes it for a ride and feels the steering wheel vibrate so much they will probably ask whats up and what am i suppose to lie and say oh thats nothing, hondas do that...no i cant lie to ppl like that, so i want to fix it so it doesnt do that...my cv joints must be warn out or must have gotten some grime in there
