Default LS ecu hooked up to a D16

ok so heres the deal...

i have a 91 civic si with a d16y7 out of a 2000 civic in it but the intake is off the stock 91 si motor...

ok so here is my question i have a OBD0 b18 ecu hooked up to my d16. could that make my car slower??? cuz it boggs ever so slightly when i first hit the gas in nutural or with the clutch in...

there is no check engine lights and it runs just fine the motor has about 65,000 miles on it,,, could this be bad for the engine, just making it run too ritch or what???

thanks for the help guys

well sohc and dohc motor require differant amounts of fuel to run and idle, thats why your gettong a little bit of bogging.i would suggest converting to obd1 and runing a po6.

Holy crap this is an old school trick like ... 03 status

OP, do you have another ecu to test? Have you looked at your timing of cam and motor, inspected your plugs?

Check the easy stuff, I remember this trick from way back.

Agreed, its an OLD trick. I rembmer researching it over 4 years ago. Was going to run a cammed d16a6 off a pr4. It never came to be tho, the motor couldn't hold onto it's rods.

Please dont run around on an improper tune on your car, you could be destroying your engine. Get a proper tune and you will be MUCH happier with how your car runs!

if you are on the stock d16y7 cam than it isn't even as aggresive as a stock a6 cam. you should look into getting a pm6 for the time being. I don't think that that y7 can take advantage of the pr4 in its stock form.
