Well I bought a D16Y8 from a member here NightShocker and it's in need of a little work. It has roughly 90K on it. the motor WILL be boosted, eventually.. probably over the winter. So Vitara pistons and rods are a must, but not right now..
The things I plan on changing are the following.
oil + filter
tranny fluid
ARP headstuds
complete gasket kit
spark plugs
plug wires
dizzy + rotor + cap
new O2 sensor for header
Clutch
flywheel
timing belt
P/S belt
cam pulley gear
water pump
tensioner
So with that said, is there anything else I should do to prep this motor for a clean drop in?
*** the clutch, flywheel, water pump, tensioner, dizzy + cap + rotor will be coming off the old motor, all the parts are brand new with less than 5k on them.
motor in the back of my boys IS300

motor out of the trunk..

for some tips

Well I'd wait to change the oil until AFTER you drop it in the car, not really prep work
Eventually a new header, that things scratched to hell, silly noobs that drop their car too low without the proper suspension to back it
Engine looks clean, just make sure you take your time and do it right the first time.

Yeah I'll def be changing the header. new O2 sensor on the header, new O2 sensor on the test pipe, going into a WS2 exhaust.
Anything else I should look into doing?
