Default d16y8 into DX.. Missing o2 sensor connector.... much help needed

first of all, let me say that i searched for about 3 hours all over the place and did not find the information i was looking for.

Here's the info on the car:
I have a 97 dx hatch that was a d16y7 automatic. I removed that motor, tranny, harness, and ecu.
I the car now has a d16y8 with 5-speed trans. I have added a new EX motor harness and 96-98 p2p ecu.

The problem:
I am now missing the secondary o2 sensor... apparently this is due to the fact that the second o2 sensor connector comes from the cabin harness in an EX and my car is a DX. I have found others with the same problems, yet nobody offering any information as to the resolution of the problem.

So here is the question:
what the hell can i do to fix this?? do i need to buy a cabin harness or can i just wire directly to the ecu???? any help on this is much appreciated.

You'll need to wire it directly to the ECU, but the trick is how you want to route the wiring.

I don't think your DX hatch has the hole in the chassis area that the EX coupes have for the secondary o2 harness to pass through and under the seat, etc.

My co-worker has a 1998 DX hatch and his secondary o2 wireing harness that he made stretches up the firewall and through along with the engine harness.

Do you need the pin outs?

first, thanks for your help! and i am sure that i can figure something out with the routing, especially since i was an AT and have some extra holes that i have yet to fill with the welder......

as for the pin outs...... YES if you could help me with that it would be great!

I am terrible with the wiring side of it, which is why i got the ex harness. I was thinking that it would be completely plug and play..... but, if this is all i have to wire, then all is good.

Here is one of the best links I can give you that will include pin-outs and instructions for the little things you might come across while doing the swap:

so this is what i took from the link:

pin A5: secondary o2 heater control
pin D13: secondary o2 ground
pin D14: secondary o2 sensor -2

so i am going to run both black wires from the o2 sensor (heater control i think) to pin A15

then i am going to run the green wire (ground i think) to D13

lastly i am going to run the white wire (signal) to D14

i am not sure what to do with the heater controls due to the fact that there is 4 wires on the o2 sensor, but i could only find 3 wires relating to the secondary o2 in the pin-out legend.

Is this right???

The four wires are:

1 signal wire
1 heater wire
2 grounds

I'll need to look at the pin-outs, but basically the two colored wires will go to their respective ECU pin locations, and the two ground wires can either share the same ECU pin, or use body ground since all you're doing is using a ground at the ECU/in the ECU if you pin them both into the same pin location.
