Man do I feel stupid... ive been buying oil filter and crush washer at the dealer for $12.xx after tax. After some asking around i found a local performance shop that carries oem oil filters for 5 ******* dollars!.. I actually picked one up today after work. The only catch was they didnt have the crush washer. Does anyone know where I can get one/some?
go to honda and tell them that your filter didn't come with the washer. I did and all they do is reach under the counter and GIVE you one.

would it be possible home depot or some type of hardware store would carry something like this..

last time I bought the honda filter for full price it was around $7 I think but I pretty much NEVER buy OEM unless the dealer sends me a parts counter coupon and its like $3.99/ea...
I usually go w/:
Mobil 1 - $12
Purolator Pure One - $6
Bosch Premium -$5-6
STP - $3
or OEM w/ coupon - $3.99... and they usually give me the crush washer for free.. they have a whole bin of them under the counter in a blue bin...
auto part stores have nylon/rubber/plastic whatever crush washers for sale too.. its like $1 or so for a 4 or 5 pack.. I've used these before w/o any problems

For the past year I have been going to the local Honda dealer and asking for a filter for a Civic (same for Integras), and always specifying a made in USA filter (Filtech). Made in Canada filters are Fram
They are about $6 and they always include a crush washer. The last time I went, however, they just gave me a whole handful of the washers.
I will probably be switching to STP, though, once I return to school because the closest Honda dealer is in the next town, 30 mins. away.

i went thru the local honda parts dept + coupon. it's basically a buy one get one free, so i picked up 8 for $32 last time.
my sis didn't bother to ask for the washers tho, so it cost another $0.60 per washer.

do you have to replace the washer every time?
I get 'em for free.....my buddy usually brings me a case of brake cleaner, a few bottles of washer fluid concentrate, 4-5 oil filters (K-series) and a few bottles on Honda silicone spray and lithium spray every time he comes over! He rocks!
