*** AEM TRU TIME ADJUSTABLE CAM GEAR HELP ***
do i retard or advance the timing for high end power? do most people usually advance or retard their timing? how many degrees either way should i go? and will i have to run higher octane fuel. which is most likely to give me detonation and/or valve damage?
On a stock motor with advancing/retarding time within reasonable limits you wont have to worry about detonation so much. Use the search because i think advance=top end and retard=bottom end but im not 100% sure and i've seen it before here. Remember with the tru-times each tic mark is 2 degrees
thanks. i think its t he other way around because when i advanced it 2 degrees it seemed to pull more from 3500-6k, and wen i retarded the timing it seemed to give more and more power as the rpm's went up.
