the head bolt is on a 1999 civic SI? like length and width and thread size?

call up the parts department at your local dealership, or go to estore.honda.com and look up the bolt from the diagrams and it'll give you the demensions

 

Youre thinking of just buying hardware store bolts or what? If so....big no-no.
I'll tell you the thread/pitch is M11x1.5 But Im not going to tell you the length of the stock bolt...for the sake of safety

 

Oh, god no. I actually ordered the one headbolt from the Honda dealership I used to work at, why not, I get a discount and it was 7 bucks haha. I think the length is like 60-80mm long. im just trying to figure out what size heli-coil I should get, I really would like to get it time-serted or machined, but I just do not have the money as of now, so its a temp. fix, its my daily driver and ive heard that the heli-coil will hold the torque if done properly so agh. idk, im in a bind right now.

 

Helicoil will NOT hold. There is too much force in the chambers - ask anyone who's tried it...they always rip out.
Time-Sert is the only way to go.

 

Well how much is time-sert? ive called a couple different machine shops and they only use heli-coil. I have to but another head gasket so that dosent leave me with alot of money at all. [freak]kkkk >_<
