Default Can I put 12:1 compression pistons on an F22A4?

I am looking at some custom 12:1 compression Bisimoto pistons and a Bisimoto Level 1 cam regrind, but I don't know if a stock F22A4 can handle that, nor do I know what power gains I'd get from it. I want to keep the motor n/a, and I would prefer higher torque gains vs horsepower gains...Whatever would get me the best acceleration. Can the F22A4 handle 12:1 compression at approximately 900 feet above sea level, and what would be the power gains from the pistons and a Bisimoto Level 1 cam regrind?

Yes, its a daily driver, and the highest pump octane here is 91...Jet fuel is the only other option when it comes to high-octane gas, but jet fuel is like $6/gallon while 91 octane (R/M+2 method) gas is around $2.65/gallon here

You will be fine running 12:1 comp. Just get a good tune be mindful of the timing and you have nothing to worry about.

Shee-it...I just read a post on these forums about a guy with an all-motor B18C running 13:1 comp making 208whp and running 13's in the quarter. I'm wondering how much horsepower and torque I'd get from the F22A4 with a setup like his

Unless you've access to Sunoco blue racing fuel, you'd better make fast friends at the local FBO operator cuz that avgas 100 is going to look pretty good, pretty fast.

Back in the day (boy, that sounds OLD ), we couldn't run anything less than 96 octain on anything over 11.5/1. Sometimes we had to back that up with water injection

Here is what all I am looking at: Bisimoto Race-Spec 12:1 compression pistons, Level 2 Cam Regrind, F22A6 Cylinder Head with Full Race Headwork, and an H23A1 intake manifold. I am wondering if I can see 13's with this setup...

Build the motor like you have planned. Remove 900lbs from your car, just like the guy in that link did, and you may hit your goal.

What are you planning to tune this BEAST on and who is going to tune it? With a mild tune im thinking you should be ok.

I am new to the tuning game, so I don't know which would yield a better tune, Chrome or HonData...I was told with a good tune on that build I could expect to see 200hp 218lbs/ft at the wheels depending on the quality of the tune and who does it and low 15's or high 14's depending on how much I spend on suspension.

I would strongly suggest that if you are going to toy with 12:1 in a DD on pump gas. You leave the tuning up to a professional.

I know I need to have it professionally tuned...What I'm wondering is how well I can do the rest of the work myself if I'm a n00b to engine building...

EVERYONE IS A NOOB AT SOME POINT IN TIME. But if this is your daily beater then do you realy want to test your skills on your only point of transportation?
