ok so i pulled a shroud and cluster outta a 91 at the junkyard, i wanted to put it into my 88 cause it has the tach and mine doesnt. i tried searching but i couldnt find anything?

is this possible? if so will it be hard and not worth it?
should i just try to find a plug and play one?

 

it is possiable to put that cluster in your car did ya happen to get the plugs for it? If ya did ya just need to swap the wires its not hard. I have the pin outs for 88 and 91.
But if ya dont fell up to that a plug and play one will be alot better.

 

I put the 89 cluster in my 91, and matched all the wire colors. Most everything works, but now I get code 17 vss which I didn't get before, and my high beam indicator doesn't work. Also, that was a lot of wires, what a bitch, I wish I just waited to find the correct cluster that would just snap in place.
