Default B16 and cable tranny?

Ok I'm new to this and don't know much. So here is the question

I might be buying a b16 with a cable tranny. Would I have to anything to update so it can go on my 93 DA?

Thanks for the help

I'm guessing you have the older cable tranny (1991 and older), it bolts right on but you'll need a clutch disc from the 1990-91 years.

It should work just fine.

Just to warn you, B16s with DAs are piggies. Slow.

You have a LS in the car right?
800 Dollars will get you on the way to beginning to set up a turbo build.

My friend has a B16 Swapped DA and my LS with XSi transmission pulls on him pretty easy.

But I would ask for papers verifying the amount of miles, because normally they will go for 1000 in that good of shape.

I have a 93 GS which is stock. So if I do deside to get it. What should I do to get it to be faster? I thought it would be ok since I don't really want to add much just want it stock!

Then don't swap it, just use that 800 for bolts ons and be happy.

B16s are a waste in Integras. Even though they came in DAs in Japan.

Bolt On LS and enjoy yourself.

Or Bolt ON B16 but still this is cars with Similiar mods even the same Transmission(mines LSD thought)

Bolt ons! What bolt on should I do? I was thinking in buying it since I'm going to need a new tranny since my tranny grinds when I'm going into 3rd gear. So I figured it would be worth it to add a vtec and tranny at same time.

Third Gear grinds are common in Hondas, 10 to 1 says the B16 will do it eventually as well.

Intake/Header/Exhaust (elminate the converter if possible)
Set of decent cams and clutch.

I have Valve Springs if your interested.

But the Cams and Springs aren't bolt on, lol just threw them in.

Well I already have a airfilter/2.25 pipe from the converter to the exhaust. Thats the way I purchased the car. So if I add headers and change cams about how much horse power will it push out I know stock is 130 I think.

On a LS the setup I recommend would be a Set of Brian Crower 402s (they don't require a valvetrain overhaul, but I do recommend one if you want more power and larger cams, I have a valvetrain set for sale)

92-93 B18A1s are rated 140 not 130, 130 is in the 90-91s.

So with Intake/Header/Exhaust/Cams/Decent Valve Train and a tune on that

You can make 130+ to the wheels.

My Stock JDM B18B dyno'ed 120.4 to the wheels.

180-200 HP to the wheels out of a B series all motor takes a bit of work.

I'm a little confused since you keep saying LS. since I have a gs. So if you were myself you wouldn't spend the money on the vtec?

I have a GS as well.

The B18A-B is referred to as the LS.

I wouldn't spend the money because 200whp out of a B series is pretty hard to do without serious investment.

So Keep your current motor and invest the 800 into it.

Or can I build and ls vtec from what I have now? What would I need?

Well A LS VTEC done properly can make nice whp numbers, I would suggest picking up a golden eagle VTEC Conversion kit, and just to tell you the VTEC head has to be machined to the LS block.

As for headers, on a budget I recommend DC or Megan if you have the cash a full RMF or Hytech.

Intake wise, a CAI is great.
Cams of course I'll recommend Crower and Valvesprings from the same.
Golden Eagle rods and JE or Ross Pistons.

Thats a little bit of cash but would get you on your feet with a build.

Ls vtec doesn't seem like something someyone with lil experience should jus go at tho plus it seems expensive if done right. I would stick with your b18 and do bolt ons or look into getting a turbo kit to put you over 200whp.. I thought the b16 was a alright motor since the hp diff and the torque isn't a huge diff
