How well do pioneer HU fit in integras?
Just wondering because when i went to look at them in person they had these huge trims that went around them. I was just wondering would they look right in integras? i dont want it to stick out to much. i guess i want it to fit like stock.
Also will i be able to install it right out of the box? or will i need a wire harness?
Pics would be great of people with pioneer HUs.
Thanks

I have one in my car, fits well, looks great and sounds even better.
Edit: you need a wire harness and an installation kit. Roughly $10-$15 each.

Pretty good. Now you've got all of the parts.
Install on 3rd gen Integras isn't hard. The hardest part is getting the old unit out, there are two screws (mine only had one
) that are behind the unit. You need to remove the armrest and the bezel around the shifter to get to the bolt. If you have any questions feel free to IM me as I just did this a month ago.

it's not hard to install in the integras.
the trim is huge and doesn't give the flush look, like the oem. but my unit was black on my black interior, so it wasn't a big deal.

Sorry for crappy pic. Anyways, although its kinda hard to tell, the trim sticks out about 5/8 inch. And the silver color stands out as well.
But I don't care that much because of the front panel which flips out like that. It takes away from the fact that it sticks out.
OMG back breaking pain removing the two stock bolts that hold the radio down...bad memories.
Easiest way to remove them by the way is to get in from the passenger side near the back, aim a screw driver up, and get that screw out.
Good luck

nice how do u like it so far?
The features are great too. Three 4v RCA outputs, lots of settings, mp3 capability. The id3 tag can be up to 128 characters long.
Downside to the flip down face is that I can't put large drinks/sodas in below, I'll have to close the panel. But it's all good.

Also, ID3 tag does not scroll automatically. You have to press a button. MP3 scanning takes a little longer. About 5 seconds to load the CD, and 2~4 second delay between mp3 songs.
It's also $400, so it's not that cheap.
If I was to do it again, I'd probably give the ///Alpine 7995 a shot.

**not my deck and not my car**
kool, i actually got the next model down from yours Pioneer Premier DEH-P740MP MP3 Player, but its the premier line so it has the 4volt outputs, basically the same unit but doesnt have the fancy face. if i had the money id would get the 840MP
quick question i would like to add a switch to my antenna while i have everything apart. i did a search and found that i need to add a switch to the yellow and green wire(antenna lead). will this wire change if i am using a wire harness?
Nope, I believe it's the same. All you do is put the switch in the line. With your harness, you'll use all of the same wires, but you connect them to matching wires that will be plugged into the back of the HU. HTH
