Default Help?! stripped headbolt :-(

I was changing my head gasket because of leaking in the front lefthand corner with some of my friends and when we finally got the gasket in and were torquing everything down, we noticed one of the headbolts wasnt tightning all the way. my friends dad is a machinist and he is going to tap and re-drill the bolt-hole in the block, but i was wondering if and what kind of new headbolt or size or what i should get? I cant seem to find anyone around the douglasville GA area that sells headbolts >_<. I want ARP headstuds but I dont have anough money for that really. any info is muchhh appreciated. thanks.

When I stripped the threads out of a D16z6 the machine shop put a insert in and got a Toyota head bolt.
Is it Timesert or something like that. I believe it came from AZ They do that kind of thing all the time.

Yeah, ive heard alot about time-sert. my blocks a b18C1 and its only 1 [freak]ing bolt hole thats stripped out, it came out really really easily so idk why we didnt check if it was stripped in the first place, we just ruined a 60 dollar head gasket in the matter of 10 minutes >_<. idk what size my friends dad is going to tap it out to but hopefully we can find someeee head bolt that fits in it, I just have no clue where to go in atlanta to find headbolts. Bahhh, [freak]in cars. I hate cars this week haha.

If you can't find a Honda head bolt look on ARP's site and find out the dimensions of other head bolts and may be add a washer if it's to long.

You don't have to have a Honda bolt. But I'm sure they should have the proper size.

Our's was a few years back, may be we went with a Toyota because they were out of Honda stuff.
Any dealer can get you a head bolt.
