They can not.
Sorry.
What, got rid of your center console?
that reminds me, does anybody have the #542? the reason i ask is because my original number was #416. but when my car got stolen, they gave me new center console and my number changed to #542. just curious if anybody has the same one...

They probably just ordered a replacement piece and had it engraved.
I thought that the last 3 or 4 numbers of the VIN are the serial numbers for the ITR. so if it is like 000314 or 001023 you are #314 and #1023 respectively.

Yeah, not tracked at all....more marketing hype I guess. On the new MINI's we had a special "Launch Edition" that came out in Canada. 500 made for the country. They ARE actually tracked and correlated to the V.I.N. #...That would have been nice for the R's. Oh well, just don't lose yours or at least keep record of it somewhere!
For anybody who forgot, lost, or was never given a Type R production number:
I called Corporate Acura and provided them with the VIN number of the car. It took them a week, but they got it after contacting Honda of Japan.
If you get a customer service rep who doesn't know what they are talking about and tell you it's the last four digits of the VIN, call again another day.
They can track this number down, but the question is... Are they too lazy to help?
