just got new brakes and they sqeal??
i just got new power slot rotors and new pads im not sure but there good ones not cheap, i was wondering if it was normal for them to sqeal while they are still new, i had them in for like 20 miles and they just started to sqeal for about the last 5 miles. please write back asap thanks
Yes, it should go away, but my question is did you use shims? If you don't have shims on them then you might want to pull them back apart and get some anti squel spray for the back of the pads.
I have always been told the squeal is caused by the pad moving bad and forth inside the caliper very fast. The spray doesnt let it move and if it does it has a sort of "cushion".
Thanks, J

Vibration is what causes noise. Brakes all around the world make noise. We Americans whine about it while everyone else just understands it. If you used brake lube, it would be quiet. Some brake pads are harder than others and may help contribute noise, racing brakes just squeak more. Get over it.
yea i used the anti squeal stuff, the only reason im conserne is because it sounds like the sound when brakes get worn out. it only sounds like its comin from the driverside. how long does it take for the sweal of new brakes to go away?? it looks like on the rotors either the top or bottom of the rotor is getin more use for some reason, just on the driverside????????????????/ pleeease helppp
