Default CRX cluster question, km/h to mph

I have a 91 CRX with a b16 swap, I picked up a jdm cluster with the 8k redline, but the speedo is in kilometers. The jdm cluster uses a electronic vss signal, my CRX has cable drive, so there is the first thing I need to tackle. I did a search and found the wiring info, so all is good there, but I still need to figure out a way to get the new jdm cluster to mph.

Do the two clusters have interchangeable parts, meaning can I take the mph cable drive speed assembly apart and place it in the other housing utilizing the electronic vss in the jdm cluster?

Second question, what is the best way to change from cable drive to electronic vss?

Any help would be appreciated, I was unable to find an answer using the search function, but I'm sure I cant be the first to attempt this
.......

the best way to hook a electric vss is to run all 3 wires behind the cluster where the cable used to go.
hook up the ground to the bolt
hook the power to any 12v power soruce
hook the vss signal wire to the yellow wire with red strip. it will be on the right hand side plug.the is the vss for your car

as for changeing anythig in the jdm cluster with a usdm, it wont work there different shapes and stlyes youll have to learn the kph/mph

Thanks for the reply sleepingciv

Is the yellow/red strip wire a electronic vss signal the cable drive speedo generates for the ecu, or is this wire a electrnic vss signal from the tranny?

I was considering swaping the face of my mph speedo onto the jdm km/h speedo, the odometer and trip would be way off. The 180 km (110 mph) is where the 120 is on the mph cluster, close but not exact.

If having a cluster with mph is your concern, perhaps you should consider sourcing out an EDM cluster which can be had in that format, as well as retain the original speedo cable

Im sure ya read that ya need to run a wire to the ecu right? For the signal wire. The yellow/red stripe wire is the wire that runs to the ecu.
