just got new brakes and they sqeal
i just got new power slot rotors and new pads im not sure but there good ones not cheap, i was wondering if it was normal for them to sqeal while they are still new, i had them in for like 20 miles and they just started to sqeal for about the last 5 miles. please write back asap thanks
did you use the grease stuff/anti-seize ****? i think that is what it is called but i use that all the time when i do brakes and when i forget to use it, it sweals like a little BIA
Were the leading and trailing edges of the pads beveled? If they aren't, take them off and take a file or grinding wheel to them and but a chamfered (beveled) edge on the leading and trailing edge to reduce the squeling. HTH

yea i used the anti squeal stuff, the only reason im conserne is because it sounds like the sound when brakes get worn out. it only sounds like its comin from the driverside. how long does it take for the sweal of new brakes to go away?? it looks like on the rotors either the top or bottom of the rotor is getin more use for some reason, just on the driverside????????????????/ pleeease helppp
It takes about 250 miles to break them in. Do you have shims on them? If so, try sanding the brake pads a little bit as wellas the rotors, that does the trick on my Teg....
its been about 400-500 miles, there still squealin. they sometimes squeal when i dont even hit the brakes like as if they were worn out. what could it be?????? its startin to **** me off
