Bored of sport bikes
Ive owned an R1 for pretty close to half a year now and well, I don't like to think its because I am maturing but I'm getting bored of sport bikes. Though they are fast and fun, but they are a bit impractical, difficult to handle and where I live, it does draw some negative attention from punk teenagers and the cops.
I want to sell the R1 and get something like a Kawasaki eliminator 125 or a VN250. Anyone know of any decent cruiser type motorcycle 250cc and under?

Sport Rider made a streetfighter R1 and really enjoyed the bike. They said it was much better than the bike in stock form for riding on the street.
I'd strip the fairings and throw some taller bars on it. Going to a 250cc cruiser would be very boring.

Don't get a cruiser, the seating postion is awful.
Have you considered a dual sport? They're fun as hell. Riding off the pavement is perhaps even more fun than riding on it. Hell, even riding a dual sport on pavement can be more fun than a regular street bike. Large speed bumps become jumps, pot-holed, rough pavement that can really put fear in the hearts of focused sportbikes is no problem.
Most dual sports get really good fuel economy, and are easy to work on: usually only one cyilnder, and everything is easy to access.

And because the OP is in Japan, he should get a Serow
Or get a CB400 Super Four or HyperVTEC. They're great. I can attest to that

I really like the Suzuki SV650 but its too expensive
And yes I do realize that under 250cc bikes are a bit slow on the throttle and therefore very boring, but I only choose that because in Japan under 250 cc does not require the expensive government mandated bi-annual vehicle inspection.
