Painting the side protectors and plastics on A CRX?
So Im getting my CRX painted. Due to the fact that certain plastic pieces are expensive to replace or just cant be found, im considering painting all the body plastics. I am getting the car painted a dark grey metallic. I dont want the plastics painted the same color as the car. Should I gloss black them? Is there a way to give them a flat look while still having a clear to protect them? Do the plastic pieces hold up well once painted? The bumpers are the original and are kinda faded. I would hate to have a fresh shiny paint job with faded, dull plastic showing. Whatever I do, i want the moldings/ plastics to look factory as possible. Any input? Car is in shop now so I need opinions soon!

The have clear flattener. and I think its VHT that makes side molding paint? Just look up a search and im sure you will find something.
take off the molding and buy some sem trim spray (napa carries it or buy it online) it will give it that flat matte black look and look fresh IT WILL HOLD UP FOR A LONG TIME WHEN PREPPED CORRECTLY (answer you 2nd question?) please don't paint and add a flat agent to clear that's just to many step and crap you shouldn't have to deal with the trim spray will do the job its designed for (let them old *** 20 yo moldings breathe new life)
