Default y8 intake manifold/ air injection holes.

I'm planning on getting one with a y8 head tomorrow. I'm not sure what year it is yet, 96-98 or 99-00. I was reading up some things about the 99-00 have the air injection holes. I understand when they said plug it up, but after i was looking at some pictures, what do I plug up? The big space or that little nipple plug?

edit: Heres an pic of my intake manifold, cleaned and painted. As you can see I'm missing some parts on where it goes.

If you look closey on the o-rings for the injectors, they are from a a6 and they are thicker than the y8's, I only have 2 o-rings from a y8 so I slapped on the a6 and bolt down the fuel rail and it looks like it squeezing them.

I used the same manifold on my z6. I used a piece of hose then plugged of the hose then ran the hose down the little hole to hide it.

but if your using a y8 head and intake why not just hook up the line

I miss read your question i plugged of a diffrent line and tucked it. But i had to cut the section of the air injection off my y8 mani to fit the z6. Cause the y8 has a taller section were the head and mani sit to each other.

on the back side of the head were the mani meets the head there are bumps on the head. the y8 has the air tunnel so its a bit taller then a a6, and will hiy these bumps so it will not sit flush

If I dont plug it , it'll create alot of leaks? Another thing, which o-rings for the injectors do I use, the y8 which is thinner or the a6 which is thick.

if it sits flush ya can plug of the nipple. if it doesnt ya need to cut the 4 little holes off and the nipple

as for the O rings if your using the a6 injectors use the O rings for the a6 injectors.

i have a pic of my y8 cut if ya wanna see it

Yeah the picture would be nice. As for the injectors o-rings, it's thicker than the y8 and making the y8 fuel rial don't sit flush on the studs where you bolt it down. it looks like it squeezing the o-rings.

I'm staying obd0 but anyway, another question, you know how a6 have a pcv valve in the middle of the intake while the y8 doesn't? How did you go around getting it in the right spot? Sorry all I had was a bare Intake with just the throttle body and fuel rail, nothing else. So I have no idea where the pvc valve suppose to go on the y8 mani but I do know where the a6 does.

i just ran a new line for mine, if ya look at the pic i should ya it the hose under the throttle cable, so the pvc sits almost under the mani

I think I got the wrong throttle body on there as well, I shouldn't have the fitv on there when it already have the iacv on the back of the manifold. Can I just bypass the fitv and just keep the iacv?

idle air control valve

Cool thing about the winter is cold air goes through the bypassed throttle body. my a6 doesnt have the fitv anyway. I can take a pic of the a6 manifold if needed.

I dont have that air injection nipple because I got the 96-98 version while you got the 99-00 that has it.
