Default Need help with a Mugen intake install

I want to install my Mugen intake in my USDM ITR with A/C. I was wondering what is the best method for rerouting the A/C lines, so I can complete the install?

Any insight into to this would be much appreciated.

I will have to try and split the A/C lines.... Thanks for the info. I wish the links weren't broken for the photos.

I put in my intake not to long ago. It was a pain in the ***.

I had to move the radiator out of the way for a moment to get that sucker in.

Its a tight fit and frustrating cause it uses up all the space. I was impressed how exact it fit in that area .

It gets easier after the first time.

Indeed. I find its easier to build it from the bottom, up.

After the first time, as Walker said, it is sooooo easy. I have pics of how I routed the a/c lines I can send you through PM's if you'd like.. Like KKim's thread, my threads pics are no longer working.

Removing the A/C condenser fan and moving the radiator over to the drivers side is the easiest way to install. I have also found that under the car, near the middle of the radiator there is a bracket the holds the a/c lines. When that is removed it makes it much simpler to move the radiator and to spread the a/c lines.

Nobody said to remove the radiator. I am curious, did you remove the lower trannie mount to do this without moving the radiator over?

I didn't take the radiator out, just moved it over towards the left front.

Taking out the whole radiator

I left the tranny mount in. At the time I didn't have the tools to take that big bolt out.

I didn't need to move or remove anything except the standard airbox, the wheel and the ****-guard.

bleh

the A/C lines run on the opposite side of the car, but everything else is in the same place I thought?. It literally took about 10seconds of jiggling and it slotted right in. The longest part was working out how to install the little shield that prevents water getting into the intake duct.

Oh, and there was a small bracket that helps to hold the stock airbox, that came out also.

Mang, You'd have to submerge the entire snorkle in a puddle to accomplish that..... and a shield won't help ya there. Should help keep debris from getting sucked up to the filter in theory but I haven't noticed a difference with or without the shield.

I know what you're saying, but I just figured that if I've got the shield, may aswell stick the fugger on there

BINGO!!!

Having just "removed" mine, it's all getting used to how it goes in there. Twist it this way, shove it that. But it works, and with AC.
