Bought a 1991 crx dx and it has a moon roof. did this model come with a moon roof or is it aftermarket? pics would be helpful. thanks

From what I understand, only the Si has the stock moonroof. I have yet to see a dx or ef with the same sliding roof as the Si.

 

nope, wasnt a standard feature for the DX

 

they might have done a rof swap but thats sorta unlikely

 

Is it an electric sliding moonroof with a switch on the dash? If so, no, that was an Si only feature. I've seen EFs with roof swaps, but it is pretty unusual. If it is a pop-up piece of glass then that was aftermarket, I believe.

 

it is a glass pop up piece. the reason im asking is cuz my seal is worn and the plastic mounting pieces are begining to crack. should i just fix it, replace it, seal it back to stock or put a kevlar plug in place of it?

 

FYI the was no CRX DX, there was only a CRX Hf, CRX, CRX Si

The standard or base model CRX was refered
to as a "DX" in the factory service manual:

Please note line 5 under vehicle grade..
The local Honda dealer also stated that by the VIN number that my car was a DX.

and run a parts search on 88-91 models,DX is also listed of the three trim levels..

PS&gt; There was a dealer installed option for the pop-up sunroof..

 

What does you vin on the fire wall say? ED8 or ED9? It's more likely the previous owner swapped in a D15 and said it was a DX then do a roof swap. Check the vin, ED8 = DX (not sure about HF's) ED9 = SI.
And yes it was a option.
