Default Brake light turns on in the morning

When I start my car in the morning, my brake light comes on while driving for a little bit until the car warms up, and then it goes away. I think I remember reading back its something to do with the IVAC. Any other suggestions?

Have you checked your brake fluid levels or tightness of your hand brake?

YES - check your fluid level. If it is low, then check your pads too.

When my car was doing this, it was a couple of months later that I also began to get the squeal from the brake pad wear indicator.

my integra does this every year when it gets cold. to make it go away (at least for a while) take the cap off the brake fluid and put it back on while the car's on.

I would personally flush the system. How long has it been since you serviced your brake system? Is it working ok? No shaking , spongy pedal?

Assuming you are talking about your "brake light" indicator in the cluster, try this...

When it happens, brake indicator light on, watch the light and set the hand brake, if light gets a little brighter and then dims a little when you release the hand brake your problem is brake fluid level or brake fluid level switch.

As mentioned, if level is low, check the brake pads, also as mentioned, if you have not had the brake system serviced in a long time, do it and have the brake fluid replaced, just like engine oil brake fluid gets old and needs to be replaced, if you have a hydro clutch, replace that fluid at the same time.

If you do not know how to do it properly yourself, have it done by someone that does. 94

I have 140 K miles on my care, probably did it like 5 years ago at 70K. How do I know if I have a hydro clutch? I still have my stock clutch, running strong!

BTW - The brake light on the cluster only turns on in the mornings when its cold outside. I remember reading a post on here about 3-4 years ago that is because the I.V.A.C. is dirty and needs to be cleaned.

my car did the same thing. it had plenty of fluid and the brake handle and all that stuff was fine but it still kept coming on. it did it again this year so i finally replaced the cap on the master cylinder and it hasnt come on at all this year.

my car use to do this in the mornings too. i checked online theres a tsb on 2000 integra GS saying the brake light indicator stays on in the morning because of the brake resevoir filter is not venting properly. it says to replace the filter but i just cleaned mine and now its fine and the brake light doesnt stay on in the morning anymore.

Idle Air Control Valve is on the intake manifold and has nothing to do with brakes.
