Default stock h22a1 header HELP PICTURES!!!

hopefully ill get a picture up as soon as i find my #@$@#$#@%# camera, tuned up my car today more or less changed oil pcv valve new fair filter etc.. i decided to take the header "shield" "manifold" whatever the hell it is off and check out my headers, in doing so i found 2 cracks a tiny one coming from the 3rd cylinder and a nice long straight line of one coming from the 1st cylinder (farthest right) i may have my numbers mixed up but its irrelevant.........this split is above the weld, which is very odd to me, it travels along the top side of the weld, and my real question is, i believe these headers are regular "mild" carbon steel? seems as though originally these stock headers were mig welded which is great bc its the only real welding i know how to do.. any idea on how it split this way? honestly there is no telling how long its been like this...i havnt got a cel/starting issue with this at all, and honestly i would have never even knew about it had i not taken the cover off, A. Type of Material? Carbon Steel is my guess and i dont know if the "mild" aspect of it just would determine what heat it needs to be at and the amps the welder should be set at. B. Honestly how this split occured because its not a weld break. unless suggested otherwise by you guys im going to pull it off and have my buddy weld it for me (8 years) of welding exp, tig/mig/flex/stick etc..

considering the price
Megan headers are a great alternative to stock
REAL cheap but make sure to inspect the welds
upon receiving the headers

y does no1 approve of the ebay SS-style megan knock offs?

I've had mine for almost 2 years, all the welds were good, came with all gaskets and bolts, 1/3 of the weight of the stock header, o2 bung and plug for bung, AND there's no rust except where the b-pipe hit drive ways and scraped the crap out of it and crushed it a little bit.

my car dyno'd 183whp/151tq on a dynojet, with this crushed header, 2.75" ebay SRI w/ dirty as hell K&N filter, stock exhaust, and a basemap tune

not bad for $115 shipped. It came with a "hi-flo cat" and another resonator.

yes i did andy, im getting little exhaust coming out from the header itself, it is without a doubt leaking, obviously not enough for me to tell until now, im taking the top part of the headers off tomorrow for a friend to weld up while i figure out if im going to sell my sub/amp for a decent header and exhaust

My megan header has leaked from day one. Seems like a common problem so be re careful when you tq the bolts.
